Setting a high bar here - I challenge anyone to match, much less beat....the gun-sighting telescope:

Every home should have one. (Apart from ours, apparently...but that's another story.)

Couple fo things have come to mind

Firstly the dog's lead - which is hanging in the shed - can;t bring myself to get rid of it in spite of it being a bit rotten - still miss her after well over 20 years

Secondly - NHS cards for my Mum and Dad - so from the 1930s/50s and a load of other stuff like the receipt for their engagement and wedding rings

My grans suitcase. She died in 1980, I inherited it....still in my wardrobe. It does have her initials still readable on it.

Two 'toy' telescopes, one small refractor, other 4 inch reflector. They are indeed like toys, one was a gift about 15 years ago, the other a friend was chucking stuff out.
They are both usable but the mountings offer the same stability as the proverbial jelly in an earthquake. Looking at the moon, it wobbles all over if a passing bat farts...
i think I may 'lose them' when I retire & move...only to get a much bigger, better 'scope^_^

Funnily enough, up till a short while ago, an air and oil filter for an Austin Maestro. Took the plunge this last spring...not much chance of buying another now

My Dad got one of them when they first came out

Worst car he ever had - engine and general structure was OK and the steering was very light and responsive

but every time you shut a door another piece of plastic or trim fell off from somewhere

The bike.

Brandane

The Costa Clyde rain magnet.
Expired passports going back to the early 70's. Not entirely useless as they serve as a sort of diary of the good old days when travel was fun.
