At least you can eat them, which surely makes them more useful than cats? Naa, I'll happily admit that as pets go, rabbits are pretty crap. Look cute and nice to stroke. However they don't actively make a nuisance of themselves and cause problems for anyone living nearby.
And that's my main issue with cats. How can a cat 'owner' talk sensibly about being a responsible pet owner when half of the time they don't even know where the thing is? Dog owners are branded irresponsible if they let their dogs run loose, and quite rightly so. How on earth did we get to a point where it is acceptable for someone to inflict their pet on neighbours with impunity? People should have the right to say 'No, I do not want cats pissing and crapping in the garden my children play in' and hold the cat owner accountable for their pet's actions. They would be able to if it were a dog and should be able to for cats as well. Cat owners are a pretty selfish bunch I think.
