This applies for normal rights of way only, such as A roads, B roads, etc....

I probably have found what is probably the most pot hole infested and rutted road around. So much so that I have reported that particular section of road in the fill that hole site. This road is classified as a B road, but is also a major bus route.

Details of it are here: http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/hazard/32100

Simple.
Brookmill Road in Deptford.
It's being resurfaced in stages at the moment but is taking a huge amount of time.
the rest of it looks like it has been bombed.

I went up Uxbridge road towards Ealing from Shepherds Bush yesterday and it's even worse than it was last summer.

I want to fill in a report on Fiilthathole but really I want to report the whole road.
I get the feeling thought that as it's on such a busy road it will take ages before they get enough complaints to fix it.

I listened to a really good section on Radio 4 a couple of weeks back at the amount of damage caused to roads by the bad weather, not just the bad weather directly but how going over them with grit after the roads had frozen actually made them worse as it increased the break-up of tarmac.

I do however have a rather cynical theory about all this, you see for me, local councils have a certain amount of money to spend on roads so they can say "we spent a record £xM improving roads last year" in their propaganda. Now to spend the money they need to pay contractors, who in turn are only interested in big jobs, not a 100m stretch of a country road. Also, its better for the Council if they can spend large amounts of money on a big job as they better hit their targets for spending our money so they can brag about how good a job their doing fixing all the roads. It also keeps the economy moving and helps the Government say they are investing as you can then keep people in jobs by paying contractors. In reality, all that ever happens is seven and a half thousand cones (they have to put them somewhere) end up covering 15 miles of the M6 for 10 months of the year where the road didnt actually need resurfacing or that bridge reinforcing though also meaning no one elses roads ever get fixed. I could just be being cynical though

Brookmill Road is bad but I reckon Rye Lane is worse, massive holes, road breaking up around drain covers, road subsiding all over the place. At the High St end it's closed off though- putting in a contraflow cycle lane apparently plus other goodies to try and pretty up Peckham's premier shopping thoroughfare. Maybe they'll move on to the other end afterwards.

Not on the bike, but the A47 eastbound headed into Wisbeach is the worst i've ever seen. There are whole tracts of tarmac missing for about a mile B)

Just looked at the fillthatpothole website..they,re quoting it as all along the Wisbeach bypass...maybe 5 miles or so !!!
