Well, @User9609 certainly did not have a clue I was a crazy Italian woman
But, really, reading too much CC has started to make me use weird expressions, like "nobber"

I'm still in shock after someone pulled me up on here the other week for spelling bike pedal peddle! They knew what i meant but they had to be all pedantic about it.:headshake:

I don't think that's unreasonable on a cycling forum. Much like breaks and brakes which is a surprisingly frequent error.
I can be pedantic, but my spelling and grammar are nowhere near the best here. When I get corrected I like to take the view that it's free education.

Can I get a latte? I dunno, can you?

When I was a primary school pupil, the shopkeeper in the corner shop used to call me Khanai, after Rohan Khanai, a cricketer who played for Warwickshire and the West Indies in the sixties.

Why Khanai?

I'd go into the shop and say, "Please can I have (name of item one)" followed by "Please can I have (name of item two) followed by "Please can I have (name of item three) (...) "Please can I have (name of final item)"

I thought that I was being polite. The shopkeeper found it entertaining.

I couldn't be arsed to type Espresso ....

I used to pronounce it Expresso until someone put me right.

They looked a little silly anyway as they didn't quote me just mentioned it. So i edited the post and said i don't know what you mean.

There is no X in the Italian alphabet.
There isn't an "X" in the Italian alphabet.
^_^

I'd never seen it written and had misheard it spoken and then propagated the error.

The X in Catalan has three different pronunciations depending on its position in a word or if it's between vowels. I quickly picked that up last week in Barcelona.
