I quite like it myself, very light, pretty, easy on the eye and so uncorporate. Everyone should use it. To lambast a font is just plain strange.

It has its place. And that's flyers for children's parties.

For almost anything else it's awful.
I'm sure I heard about a sign for "victims of violence support network" being done in it or something which is pretty bad.

I'm pretty sure this came up before and I suggested that some of our dear members speak in wingding IIRC.

I think this says it all:

I was in the army once and the Sergeant said to me: “What does surrender mean?” I said: “I give up!”

(not comical, serif or not)

A friend of mine always wanted to be run over by a steam train. When it happened, he was chuffed to bits!

A good idea for a thread, Rich - If CCers were a font, which font would they be?*

I wanted to write that in Poor Richard, but it's not available on CC...

You could be right Rich it rings a bell now you say it.

I don't get how you can find a font patronising, any more than you could find someone's handwriting offensive.

[using wingding font] I prefer wingdings myself [/using wingding font]

(couldn't paste it in, which was a shame!)

What about century gothic then. Does that impart any emotions; the urge to bite or watch Hammer horror films
