What's wrong with cyclists today?

Sometimes I don't say hi to people wearing the same shoes as me. Sometimes I don't wave to people who live in the same town as me.

However when cycling I expect a fellow cyclist to pull over and we spend 30 minutes recreating our favourite Call The Midwife episode. Almost all join in but a few don't. I must start a thread about my desperately needy anxiety of my arbitrary greeting between people using the same mode of transport as me.

You have to realise I'm a Northerner and we talk to each other. Not like all you southerners who sit on the tube not making eye contact in case someone smiles.

I hope this gratuitous friendliness is not a trend. Tomorrow I am going out for a ride and won't come back until I have not greeted 30 cyclists. We have to stop this in its tracks.

I always give a nod or a wave to other cyclists, I don't expect an acknowledgement as I expect the others to be miserable barstewards. I am not normally disappointed. When I do get a nod or wave from others it does brighten my ride. Other cyclists are just a representation of the general public, some are miserable self centred gits.
