The internet contains everything you would ever wish to read/see about cycling.

However. I often think there's always something special about flicking through the pages of a good cycling magazine.

When I first started cycling Mrs OTD bought me a subscription to Cycling Plus. Naturally I was very grateful and always looked forward to it flopping onto the doormat every month. After a while I found the magazine was more aimed at those who had an endless supply of dosh to fork out on high end expensive bikes. A bit like Top Gear became when they Road tested the powerful astronomically priced super cars.

The year after I went for Cycling Active. A more down to earth magazine which featured bikes often within the reach of the normal guy in the street. Mid way through my subscription they changed the look and also the content of the magazine which put me off renewing my subscription.
I am now magazineless and often fancy buying one for a bit of a read. Dunno which one to get now.
Generally, most magazines regurgitate content which I suppose is common as there is only so much you can feature without repeating itself.

What's your magazine, if you read them?

Looking for something a bit fresh and different.

There was one called women's cycling but it folded. Wasn't very good though. I'm not really a magazine person so there need to be lots of interesting and original articles and minimal MAMIL fodder

I am in the same boat. Sick of cycling plus and the obscene price tag on the kit. I mean who has £1k pcm to blow!

You could try a magazine called cyclist. Seems to be less gear orientated and more trip, ride and adventure orientated. You can get a trial of 3 mags for £5 to see if you like it.

Otherwise you could try bikes etc or something from the off-road section?
