God knows what set me off thinking about this, but walking the dog and I was thinking what good names Luke Skywalker & Darth Vader are - the first full of nimble youthful positive energy, the latter echoing 'death', and just sounding like doom. Pondering on, I came to John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn in True Grit - don't know why Rooster works so well - perhaps because he's such a scrappy braggart? - but it's just spot on. My favourite movie name of all, though, has to be Nurse Ratched (pron.'ratchet'), from One Flew Over. There's just something about the sound of that word that perfectly captures her heartless, tyrannical character.
(PS I've suddenly remembered what did set me of on this train - a silly joke in the jokes thread that I'd forwarded to a friend, receiving in the woods the response: A new low. I don't know...the ingratitude.)
Anyway, that's my latest thread headed for tumbleweed country...unless you have any cherished suggestions?
