What's your first ever post on CC?

Mine comes up as:
I had just filled in an order for Prendas, I was just wondering if I really wanted the stuff, when up jumps puss, and puts her foot straight on the "enter" key. I am now the owner of a Gazelle team woollen jersey, which doesn't quite fit.
Which is strange as I could have sworn my first post was about a substitute for Cinelli 65 handlebars.

My 1st post was on cyclingplus in about 2005 - I wanted to know the route of the 1981 Worlds which was held at Goodwood as I had a week off with no-where to go and I planned to spend the week riding round and round the course.

After lurking a while I tried cycling plus and posted a tentative "does anyone know the 1981 route?" post before work.

I checked at lunchtime and there was already a 4 page thread with people reminiscing about being there.

Someone had dug up and scanned the original program so I had the route, someone else offered to send me a free copy of a video of the highlights - I was amazed, but I have lived through the many iterations of cycling fora along with a lot of the old school CC crew - and found the experience unique - CC remains my go-to page every morning and despite the teasing of P&L it is still has the unique combination of friendliness, disagreement and erudition that I've never found on any other site.

So Happy New Year and long may it continue

Not much has changed since this post ^_^

Hi all,I'm a complete newcomer to all this but am just about to dive in to commuting an 18 mile round trip once I get my bike next week. As a mid 30's slightly unfit beginner would you reccomend this or go for a more slowly slowly approach?
P.S am looking at either a Spesh Vienna Globe 2 or a Trek 7.1 FX, not the most expensive of bikes I know but should do the job.

How do you find your first post? Going back thru 'my content' at 15 pages a time will take me all day to get back to 2007.

rich, you must have been around before CC on cyclingplus or wherever?

If so, you can't - it's all gone - you have to try and remember

Good thread User! Your first post is almost as boring as mine:

I've been lurking here so long I feel as if I know you all. Now it's time to say hello, though I'm not sure how much I'll be able to contribute. I've learned so much from reading your posts on all topics.

I'm pretty new to cycling as an adult, having gone everywhere by bike as a kid like most, ahem, older cyclists. I try and get out two or three times a week for solo or social rides, and use one of my three bikes (a Dawes tourer, a Trek hybrid, & old mountain bike) to go shopping and do errands. Did my first 100K this autumn, but rather slowly! I'd like to try an overnight ride, maybe next year if I'm fit enough by then.

I'm sure I'll have lots of silly questions to ask before long, bear with me.
