Commute: get up, stretch, change and ride.

Leisure: Spend three days thinking about a ride and on the day itself talking meself out of it and having a cuppa with a packet of biscuits.

probably out cycling
Not uncommon, I'm slightly OCD too, I've set off on a ride many times and ridden back home 5mins later to check: that I've locked the house doors, or is the gas stove off, or are the windows closed etc. It's completely wasting my time I know, but at least we've checked, no harm done really......................:okay:

Haha, I know it sounds like it, but I'm not OCD at all. I never cycle back to check, its taken me ages just to get out^_^.

My problem is I am, and always have been, utterly shambolic at keeping hold of my belongings. I pretty much leave something of mine with everyone I visit, never intentionally. You knows those mittens that kids have with string so they don't get lost, I think what I basically need to save masses of time in my life, is to just tie all my belongings to me, so I'm basically a big lumbering, rattling swiss army penknife.

I try to keep all things in the laundry room on the way to the garage, as I usually use garage door to get in and out of the house. Bikes are housed there, with all their gear.

Check weather forecast and decide where I'm going to go.
Have a wee.
Decide which bike I will use as it will decide what to wear ( appropriate colour scheme)
Put cycling gear on and food in pockets.
Selected bike out of shed and check tyre pressure.
Wheel bike to side of house .
Put garmin and camera on bike.
Fill water bottle.
Put cycling shoes on, gloves, helmet, cycling glasses.
Turn on Garmin and camera.
Lock side door and I'm off.

Of all the things I do, I make a point of checking I have underwear in my panniers for the commute the most frequently.

Seriously, Going commando in work all day is not advised.

Super-embarassing moment forever know as 'Pantsgate' in our office. Got changed for the ride home, noticed my undies were missing - oooer, they dropped out of my hand in front of my line manager:wacko:.

Charge around for 30 minutes stuffing various things into my courier bag (I will forget my pass for work and my pants). Get all togged up. Go outside to get bike out. Realise I need the toilet. Go back inside. Go outside again. Realise I forgot to give the cat his pill. Go back inside. Go outside again. Walk down the alley to the gate. Can't find keys. Go back inside. Keys aren't where I normally leave them. Look for keys. After 20 minutes remember I had to look for something in the shed the previous night. Find keys in shed. Finally leave.

Get to work. Discover missing pass, spend 10 minutes getting a contractors pass. Return to building, hide bike in warehouse. Get changed in warehouse toilet. Discover missing pants. Leave warehouse and walk around to door of my building. Realise I left contractors pass in warehouse toilet ...

There is no routine for me - but it seems like ages after I get out of bed , before Im actually on the bike.
Commutting isn't so bad as I make sure everything is ready the the night before..

I'm like a robot, same routine everyday, perfect prep the night before so I just have the basics to do when I get up. Breakfast items are laid out in the order I need them. Clothes are laid out in the order I put them on. My drinks are made up and in bottle holders already or in the fridge depending on what it is, food to take to work is prepped and waiting for me in the fridge. My pocket items such as tube/chain tool/pump etc are laid in the order they need to go in my pockets, or the saddle bag after I have put my work food in. I'm sure if I mapped it out more thoroughly there would be savings to be had somewhere ^_^
