Wheels (I am sure it has been done to death, but...)

Morning All,

I am looking at getting a new set of wheels for my road bike, budget around £400.

I have been looking at the Mavic Ksyrium Elite, but wanted to ask if anyone on here has any experience of them and also if there are other in that price bracket that I should be looking at.

All suggestions gratefully received.

I put Ksyrium Elite's on last summer. Really pleased with them. Roll nicely, light and have stayed true (and I'm heavy - but I'm told they're pretty bomb proof) and with a nice quiet freehub. That last point may seem strange, but they replaced Fulcrums which you could hear from half a mile away when freewheeling. The only thing I worry about is availability of spokes..... Be a good idea to order some in when you get the wheels.

Of course, at £400 you could get some nice hand builts too....

I also have the Elite's, and while I have no reason to complain, with hindsight I wish I had gone for handbuilts instead...
