Slightly niche one perhaps. I have a Wheels mftg BB30a installed in the Caad12 which is the Sram 22/24mm version. They also make a shimano version with 24mm bearings on both sides. I want to change to a Shimano crank but obviously want to avoid buying another £100 BB. Does anyone know if the nds bearings on the 22/24mm sram version can be switched out for a 24mm bearing to make it shimano compatible?

No, you need another BB - I'd just get a stock Shimano BB to save the faff.

They don't make them (unless you know of one I am missing?). The only BB30a to 24mm as far as I am aware, are Wheels mftg and Token Ninja, but the Token no longer seems to be in production either.

Ah...

Looks like you need a specific new BB. I'd caution against changing the bearings only as they may not fit correctly - e.g. spacing may be slightly out.

BB30A is a proprietary Cannondale bottom bracket standard, featuring an asymmetric 73mm wide shell with a 42mm inner diameter, where 6806 bearings press directly into the frame. Primarily used on modern Cannondale road bikes (e.g., Synapse, CAAD12/13), it allows for a 30mm spindle, often requiring adapters for 24mm cranks

Yeah, the BB30a is a pain, as you say it is specific to the older model CAAD and since it is no longer in use there are pretty much no viable options other than the Wheels mftg from what I can gather. My own fault, there was a Token available a few weeks back but I dithered and someone nabbed it. There is one available in Italy but they are charging a £50 deliver fee on top of the BB itself!
