Wheelset for a 29er

Looking for advice on which wheelset to get for a 2013 Specialized Rockhopper 29er.

Only used for road firetrack and bridleways, would prefer something with cartridge bearings so I can change them myself in the future.

any suggestions for best value for money? or ones to avoid.

Why do you want to change bearings? Just get XT hubs and forget about them.

I'm not skilled enough to change them and from asking around it going to cost £60+ per wheel to have them fitted and relaced.

Bang for buck, go for some Superstar Components switch hubs on their XC rims. Otherwise Hope Hoops.
