When did you get your first medal..

7 or 8. Came with a camera - my first! None of this messy, sweaty, sporty stuff .... it was in a national handwriting competition.

Nearest I've come to winning a medal for anything sporty? A bottle of malt whisky ... first prize in a beetle drive

13 for coming second (poo) in a county badminton comp. the weird thing was that I became friends with a guy I met on the CB (remember them) and found out he'd won the gold! We laughed for years about that.

Wow! You got medals for having a poo? Davywalnuts would have a sackfull by now if we awarded them on group rides.

Aged about 40 for being runner up in the club handicap competition at the local evening 10.

My first award was a "Ladybird book of wild flowers" for nature study at infant school, followed by a rosette, certificate and 5/- for best bunch of wild flowers in North Lonsdale show. First medal was for full attendance for the year at primary school.

Victoria Cross. I slapped a German who'd spilled raspberry juice on a fetching Paul Smith shirt I had on and I still haven't managed to get that stain out. The beast!

About 7 i won my first of quite a few swimming medals, one for judo at about 10, think it was for taking part lol, and a few football ones
