As this is the first time in my life that I have had a xmas tree and I'm not Christian, when is the 'correct' time to take it down? Thanks.

all by 12th night , which is day before when some people celebrate epiphany , apparently the time the wise men arrived to see the baby Jesus. all a good story and ties in nicely with pagan customs ( what a surprise there) . personally i would take em down on New Years Day but SWMBO won't let me.

New Year's Day for us - nice to have a clean look to the place for the start of 2012. When I was a lad, my mum and dad always kept the tree and decs up until 12th night and I hated going back to school with the Christmas decorations still up at home.

Tree stays up this year til No1 son returns from Indonesia in 2 weeks time... full roast dinner planned as he's been eating a rice based diet for over a year.
Although I do have a son, he's not in Indonesia, so I think I will go for the earlier of Jan 5th or Easter Sunday (which is probably tomorrow, judging by the hot cross buns in Tesco).

I don't know anyone who still has theirs up! Ours wont be down until the 12th night.. But only because I don't want to be up the step ladder again.. and it always looks so bare without..
