Aye ... and for those who don't accept governments "stealing" our basic rights like "our days" in the calendar, Christmas is just about to arrive!

6th January.

Some of the Orthodox Churches hold to the "old" Julian calendar, and when I was young, so did some of the Hebridean islands? Don't know if it's still true ... but I really do hope so!

Aye, but thats only because the Gregorian calendar did not realise that there was an extra 0.26 to be added to the days, and by the time they had realised Christmas had moved from it's original day of the 22nd of December to the 6th of January (except in Ethopia where it was the 9th, as they started counting a few decades earlier with the same error)

The Julian Calendar was 'only' 0.01 day out, hence why Christmas is only two days out after two millennia and why a day is now added every 400 years to make up the difference. They also now add in a 'leap second' every year or so to keep everything on track.

When you all vote me the Divine Emporer of the World I will be making some corrections to the calendar including Christmas on the shortest day of the year and a global holiday on the longest day

Don't listen to Touche, he is winding you up. They stay up until Easter Sunday.
Or untill the shops start advertising easter! That was Monday here, boxing day in some places!

The deccies in the Admin household are coming down tonight.

I must admit to enjoying it this year more than most. The shopping was completed well in advance, and the wrapping and delivering done at least two weeks before the big day. And I really enjoyed the time at home with the family.

And despite those naughty little marketing people - I'm not too worried about Easter just yet ...
