When does the British summer actually start?

I know we all complain about the weather in this country but apparently last year Rhyl was the second driest town in the UK..

Well theres a turn up, where was the most dry place It wasn't W M S for sure as we had a phenominal ? amout in July I just kept getting wet I didn't go out till August!

Winter and summer do differ I’ve found! Its just the rain is different in temperature Some difference in the lenght of the days too. So roll on BST as more cycling time if I'm to be let off \the DIY and home maintance!

My new (2011) shed had mould growing inside it I found out last week due to all the blasted wet weather - it's also bleached from red cedar to a dull grey, so that's another painting/preservative job for me. Also last years tomato crop was bland due to lack of sunlight.

I also have to often work outdoors - usually when it's bucketing down. Anyone notice the millisecond you step out the door to begin your commute, it starts to rain?. Have I accidentally activated some motion-sensitive 'rain now' switch or what?
