Granted, it has been dry today but chilly. Tomorrow, cold and very wet. Rest of the week - chilly, showers, breezy. Same old; same old....

I noticed on my forum ride yesterday that many local roads had been gritted recently!

Yeah, once you are out the sun you feel how cold the wind is. Still, I managed my monthly 50k ride in shorts today, so can't complain.

Rained nearly all day here, but looks like an improving picture for the rest of the week.

"Improving" (from a very low base) doesn't mean a heatwave!
For us, it means we might get a couple of dry days (but don't be surprised if we still get some showers) on Thursday/Friday. Then it's back to the usual - rain for the weekend.

I don't think it is improving enough to be describable as a heatwave.
