.....one thing I try to avoid is getting involved in arguments on contentious issues. People get very heated sometimes, and not to any good effect that I can see. You very seldom see any evidence of changing minds - 99% of it's huff & puff signifying nothing. I sometimes say what I think, but then I leave it at that. If others disagree, fine.

Ain't that the truth! There's always a couple of longwinded threads running where I think 'For goodness sake! Why won't people just let it go?' I have even stuck my head above the parapet on a few occasions (RLJ'ing and helmet stuff ) but still don't feel the necessity to continually return and defend my POV or try and convince everybody that they MUST see things my way.

Also I wont reply to something if its gone to a 2nd page normally.

Yep, the participants sometimes need to stand back, take a deep breath and ask 'What was the question again?'

Well Night Train , I've made a HUGE pot of beef stew and dumplings this morning. Anyone interested should bring along their own bowls though, as last time not all dishes were returned​
