Like a herd of sheep, they all ramble over the exposed tree roots and down the slippery bank, when there was a well worn path just to the right of them. Brilliant.

A friend of mine is in a cave rescue team and he has been saying for the last 20 years that it's less and less common to meet young cavers out getting themselves into trouble, he says the same about walkers and mountaineers so just console yourselves with the thought that once the Mass-Trespass generation of 1950s walkers dies out we will have the hills to ourselves and will be able to blunder about all over the footpaths on our mountain bikes.... assuming we can tear ourselves away from our computers, that is.
