I have googled 'fairy lights for bicycle' and came up with lots of fairy light suppliers in the uk. Once I had searched for 'outdoor battery powered lights' I had a fair (y) few to choose from for about a tenner. Not sure that I will actually buy any, I just like the thought

I was at a Garden centre yesterday, the 6-7 foot trees were £70!!! We have a fake one

When I was building mountain bike trails on Forestry Commission land we'd start to see some of the locals with, ahem, not much concious driving through the forest from around the last week of November on the lookout for the perfect Christmas tree !

At those prices you can see why people prefer the self-service approach !

My son was telling me he'd seen a cyclist with fairy lights on his bike tonight.
I saw one this morning, he also fell off dropped the bike and tried to stay on his feet and promptly ended up on his arse . Yes I must admit I laughed.

The thing with the Christmas tree is that I hate the plastic ones and on the other hand my heart aches seeing the real ones dying..
If it was up to me there would not be a tree in my house. What's wrong with putting lights and ornaments to a real one outside, in the garden? Hey ho.. Not my call I'm afraid!

Leave it up all year round. Saves all that buggering about. If the needles fall off just get the kids to glue them back on. Hours of fun for them. In fact you could buy them some glue for their chrissy present.
Plans coming together and all that.

Same "plastic one" now in its 18th year, rather that than cutting a real one down just for a few weeks :santa:
