Hi guys,

Was just digging through some hard-drives and found this moment from stealth camping whilst on tour last year. Sometimes stealth camping can be amazing - you see amazing things and experience total calm. Other times it sucks and you get sprayed by garden sprinklers. This was a bad time.

There's a full post about stealth camping and why the bad moments on tour are actually good moments given time. If you're interested check it out here.

Which just tells you that stealth camping means where people cant see you
and you cant see them. It does not often include perfectly flat lawns with pop up sprinklers on them.

it is also important when touring to have a tent that keeps the rain (or other water sources) out.

It made me laugh.

You're totally right. That was a godawful place to camp. Lesson learnt - don't get sloppy!

Well done you for recording that. If I had been in that situation making a video would have been the last thing on my mind. Really enjoyed it though so thank you. Hope your sleeping bag dried out.

thing I found was that you can tsee the damm sprinklers at all in th e states as they are laid under the turf, in city parks etc.....so the first you know about it is when they come on. I soon learned to distrust lush green grass in favor of pitching on dry brown grass in parks if i could find some.

Haha, pretty sure they literally pop out of the ground?! They're invisible until you get soaked! Definitely prefer nice leaves in a discreet cluster of trees than in a city park outside a supermarket! You got the sprinkler treatment too then Rolf?!
