i made a mistake/took a chance this morning and all i could hear was Gaz's voice in my head going, 'that's how cyclist's get dead!'

there was a fairly long tailback on my road section due to the low bridge next to the railway station and the lorries having to filter right to go over it. the queue's build up quick if the barrier is down for a while so...i can't really go offside of the traffic cos there's a red section dividing the traffic and lorries are motoring the other way, i look down the nearside, i can see a fair distance straight down the queue and nothing's moving...i ride down the nearside of a frickin great artic' all the while hearign Gaz and thinking, you've watched his films Kev, why are you doing this?

i felt bad.

I messed up this morning on my commute into town and got "honked at". I'll hold my hands up - it was a lack of concentration on my part and totally my fault and I deserved what I got.

Having realised it was my mistake (and feeeling like a complete idiot) I held my hand up to the driver at the time and then turned round and apologised when we both stopped and at the next set of traffic lights. To his credit he was OK about it.

What do you do in that situation?

Depends what it is, but there is a possibility that the driver didn't use the horn correctly...

You don't say what the fault was...

That's because I'm embarrassed  Schoolboy error!
Fortunately it was only a half mistake as I realised what I was doing halfway through the manouvere - but enough so that I felt the cold chill of panic as I squeezed the brakes and berated myself!

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I always find honesty is the best policy , trying to hide a mistake or blame others normally comes back and bites you in the ass.

Well done for being an adult and admitting your mistake

I cut across the path of a Volvo yesterday morning when i completely misjudged his speed, held my hand up and mouthed a big sorry, hope he got the gist of it.
