I was born in Withernsea, East Yorkshire. I left at 16 to join the military. Since then I have lived all over the UK, Germany, Kenya, Canada and eventually drifted up in Denmark 23 years ago.

I often wonder why I have never seen TV advert or holiday brochure for Denmark in the UK.

It is an ideal holiday destination with a lot of variety in a very small area.

Born in Solihull, Lived in Acocks Green for a year.

We moved to Walsall when I was a year old and lived there for sixteen years living in 5 different houses in different areas.

At 17 I buggered off up to Blackpool to look after a boat for a family friend of a friend... I was supposed to be there a year but it ended up being 3 years.

At 20, I met a much older woman online  and moved down to Milton Keynes for two years. That didnt end well so I buggered off up to Stoke on trent for some strange reason.

Stayed in Stoke and worked in Crewe for three years, quite enjoyed my time up there working for a security company who really helped me grow in the proffesion.

I started dog handling and lived in my van for a little bit, travelling around to different places just me and the dog. We were quite happy.

About 5 years ago, I was working on a task in Chippenham. It was 2am, I was bored and was messing around on TikTok live, One of my followers commented "come to Bassett so I can meet the dog and give him a fuss"... She fell in love with the dog, grew to like/tolerate me  I carried on living in the van for a while around the area, We got serious and got married four years ago. We now have a 17 month old son and another German Shepherd. I hated the area at first but have slowly grown to love it, Would take quite a lot to get us to move away from Bassett now.

The guys on GCN did a tour across Denmark and raved about it. I went there in 1966 with the scouts camping in Bornholm and the staying with a Danish scouts family in Copenhagen I still have fond memories.

Lovely place Denmark, did a tour years ago and did legoland for a younger sibling. Highly recommended, I seem to remember it was a tad expensive at the time though.

Worked for an investment bank (hambros) in the 70's. Their origins were from Denmark. Not sure of my facts, but I believe there were two factions vying for power and they backed the faction that rose to power and we're rewarded by becoming bankers to the Crown.

I have seen the GNC film. I would hate to think of their final bill. They stayed in some expensive places.

But you can tour for free. We have hundreds of nature shelters.

I don't remember seeing TV adverts for many specific countries. A few for Australia a few years ago. a Few more currently for Turkey.

Various travel companies, frequently, but countries, rare. And when we do get them, it is because those countries want a significant increase in UK tourists, which I suspect Denmark isn't too concerned about.
