I'll start.
I am from the Wirral. A nice place to live with lots of interesting places and history.
I had a good job at Cadburys.
I met my wife to be around 1965 when I was 18, she was 16 and from Warrington.
We married in 1968 and she moved to the Wirral (the company she worked for found a job for her in the Liverpool branch).
Now........my Dad was a miserable, extremely religious man and did not make her welcome at all, my Mum did what he dictated. My wife was close to her parents and I loved them both..... really nice people.
So........we made the decision to move to Warrington.
2 children, a SiL and a DiL, 3 grown up grandchildren and I am still in Warrington.
Life, generally has been good to us.
Sadly I lost my wife after 55 years but the family have been very good.

Who's next then,

Grew up in South Benfleet in Essex, left at 18 for Uni, worked a couple of years in Essex, met my wife, who was scottish, moved to Ipswich for work a couple of years. Then moved to Scotland as a job came up and we stayed. Kids consider themselves Scottish and I have gone native!

Born on now the roughest council estate in dudley, west midlands and luckily parents moved back to the east midlands so I don't sound like a yam yam. Went back a few years ago to see the area I was born in and also the Zoo on the hill, definitely wont be revisiting ever again. Spent Most of childhood is Ashby by the Sea, Oldies will know, then moved over the border into South Derbyshire. Still here after 40 plus yrs.

Born in Newcastle U Tyne, moved to rural Cleveland with my Dad's work.

Like most of my school peers, the decision to move away to was as much about getting out of Cleveland as getting an education. This was tested a couple of years later when I got thrown out of college and my parents suggested I return 'home'.

Bizarrely, despite having made peace with my parting of the ways with tertiary education, I've changed address 5 times since yet always lived within 2 miles of the scene of my educational demise.

Monogamous domestic arrangement 1 led me to my current house even though I'm now in MDA2.

A desire for more solitude will eventually move us further North but the timing will largely depend on the successful fledging of our kids.

Like Dave I come from The Wirral
Started off in Thingwall then we moved to Moreton
just up the road from the Cadburys where Dave worked

we could smell the chocolate when Dave left the window open!!!

Then met my ex (mutter mutter) on holiday and we got together when we got back
think I was in my mid to late 30s
anyway - for "reasons" she insisted in living in Bangor in North Wales
so I ended up living partly in my house in Moreton on the Wirral
and half in Bangor

eventually lost my job in Liverpool and moved fully to Bangor with the ex and our daughter

then got qualified as a teacher (by a rather long route) and started working as that in North Wales

then move to Llandudno when we split up

a while later I met my wife on a dating agency and she lived in Prescot (near Liverpool)

eventually I "lost" my job in the school - mostly due to illness so move to Widnes as there were more jobs in England that I had a chance of getting

Then my wife moved in with me when she became sick and hasn;t moved out!

We got married a few years after she moved in

and we are still here

First 19 years, lived on Merseyside, Prescot, with family. My dad worked for BICC, as I did for a year, then my dad was transferred to the Erith site in Kent, so we all moved south.

Im from a nomadic family, dad (and mum briefly) was in the RAF.
Dad from Bristol, mum from Northumberland, they met while both in the services.
I was born on Helston Cornwall, dont know a lot of places we lived but latterly Wyton, Hemswell, near Scampton and then Syerston near Bingham Notts, all RAF bases.
Dad left the RAF and moved to Peterborough, myself and my soon to be wife moved there a year later as young adults, been here ever since 1977.

No roots, no real sense of belonging but always liked Nottingham more, its where I spent my formative years.

The BICC Erith site was taken over, but the company went bust at the end of 2025.
There is plans to demolish the site, which has some very historic only warehouse.

The Prescot site is also gone, now a shopping centre, but I have fond memories of the year I worked there, in the IT building in Warrington Road.

My son and DiL own a pub outside Nottingham.... the Star Inn, West Leake.

I had a difficult entry into this world, hence me being born in two places! I'm registered as being born in Whalley near Clitheroe Lancashire, but I actually popped out in Accrington Lancashire. According to my late mother, I refused to come out due to umbilical cord problems, so I was rushed to 7 miles away Accrington Victoria Hospital which in those days had a fully operational maternity unit. On arrival and after some serious inducing, my mother dropped me, so technically I was born in Accrington, though on my birth certificate it has 'Clitheroe in the county of Lancashire' 🤔 🧐

My OH has a very interesting history, with ancestors coming from Guernsey, jersey, Cornwall and Wales.

Her dad was born in Cardiff, worked in the paper mills, transferred to Ivybridge (Devon), then conscripted into the army. Stationed in Dartford and after the war worked for the same paper company, but in Dartford, where he settled for the rest of his life and where my OH was born and subsequently where we met and we have lived in this area for over 50 years now.
