Do you really need a bedside lamp?;)

need, no...but then I don't need much more than food and some form of shelter....It's just nice to have one on when watching TV on my laptop in my room at night without either the main light on, or nothing on...and it'll be nice to read a little bit in bed without having to get out of bed to turn the light off.

I got some in argos in the end, a pair and bulbs for £15 so not too bad. They're quote nice so all is good

Homebase or B&Q (can't remember which) have touch bedside lamps which are fab. When it's dark and you want to turn the light on you don't have to find a fiddle little switch, you just flail your arm around and when it contacts the light then bing, illumination occurs. They are about £8 I think. We have several of 'em as they're so handy.

Why not work nights? Then you won't ever need the lights on in your house.

I'm a student...so I suppose sometimes I do ;)

Those touch lights are fab!!

I have some cheap ones from argos now*, which are lighting up my room nicely. A nice evening glow of light :o)

*so basically, this thread was pointless

HOWEVER...I wouldn't mind getting some things to make my room more homely. I already have quite a lot of photos up...ignoring the tenancy's agreements rule on blu-tack style products...I was thinking a nice shag pile rug would be nice

Shame there so expensive...but if anyone has any ideas to spruce my room up (on the cheap), in a way that my landlord can't fuss too much/can be removed easily before they come round I'd be interested in that.

I have got two bare walls which I'd like to stick something big on. Unfortunately all the Vietnam posters on allposters were very expensive!!

Charity shops can be useful... I got two very nice Ben Sherman shirts from mine. They don't light up my living room, but .... ;)
