This might sound rather sad, but I really want to see a floor plan for my neighbour's house. They seem to have loads of people in there...never really see the same face twice, so I'd quite like to see their floor plan and how many rooms they've got. I had a brief look through their window as I was coming in the other day and it seems to be a different layout so I am curious!

Is there a website where I can do this...

I'm going to gloss over the obvious - which is that worrying about your neighbour's house is a bit odd, and that the quickest way to find out is to invite yourself round and say 'hi, I'm your neighbour', and attempt to answer the question.

If the house was built post about 1965 then your local Building Control Department may have copies of the plans. The planning department may also have plans.

Other than that - get a 1 to 1250 map, enlarge it to 1 to 100, get yourself a ruler, draw what you can work out from looking in windows (right to light surveyors are always getting caught peering through bedroom windows from the top of ladders) and start drawing. If you're arrested then don't quote me, and don't expect a visit....

haha...after 2 years I think that would be even odder going round to say hello. When i said look through window it was an honest enough glance - there door to their stairs is in a different place to ours (if we had it there we'd end up in other neighbours living room).

hah. I'm not this bothered. never mind

I'm only curious because (having never met them, but seen them in the kitchen(which is opposite ours)/occasionally see them leave there seems to be lots of them...even though every other house is only really 3 people. They always seem to be different too. Perhaps it's a half-way house or something. hmmm.

That's even easier, all you need to do is front up and say something like "After all this time living next door, I don't feel I've ever got to know you. My name's Thomas" (extend arm, shake hand, see what happens next).

Whatever you do, don't tell them you're a nosy bast4rd....

OK, turns out there are 4 bed houses in our road too. Just gave a tour of our house to some neighbours (not the neighbours).

Happy now

Or it may have a wormhole to a parallel universe.
Or a Harry Potter style gateway like at King's Cross.

Well, what I've done in the past is to drill a hole through the party wall into the bathroom and then put a little camera throu....

*cough* No! I didn't say that! Forget what you just read, god damn it, my secret's out ...

If there has been an extension which required planning permission within the last 15 to 20 years local authorities will have copies of plans online for before and after. You can normaly search foc on line via the local council planning dept website.
