Last week was bike week. I saw about two extra cyclists all week (aren't many on my commute).

Today I reckon I saw about three times the usual number (this thread needs data, I should start counting).

There has been a big increase around my area recently. It used to be a case of only seeing 1 other rider every now and then but now I get to see quite a few :biggrin:

I saw the same middle-aged teacher riding on the pavement that I always see. I've given up smiling/waving in her direction, she never responds. Is Stirling just anti-bike?!

Hard to tell for me as I commute at all different times.Then again if I even saw a few cyclists on my 4am commutes this week that would be something.

I passed a bloke today, after he passed me at the lights and stopped directly in front of me at the lights, that had the entire left side of his rack hanging loose and clanging against the side of the bike

unbeleivable that someone would ride that and do nothing

At the weekend, i was riding with a guy whos chain had stretched so much it was slipping, but not if he was in his big ring!! Unfortunatly, he likes to spin fast(very very very fast) so he sometimes went into to middle ring to have the chain slip:laugh:
The guy is amazing, hes a proper cyclist.
He also doesnt wash his bike much, and his mudguards were once moving from side to side alot and rubbing his tyres, and he was still riding along:laugh:
He now has them cable tied to his rack:laugh:
Just bodge it and ride:becool::biggrin:

27,000 official riders on the London to Brighton and at least twice as many again unofficial. Now they have done 55 miles at the weekend, commuting is a doddle as long as it does not rain

Last week when going to work early I was managing to see 20 bikes by the time I had done my first half mile or so, and I did try counting but usually lost count/forgot as I headed into town - certainly over a hundred. Even then I must have been the only one to go around the RAB in primary with all the rest jouseling for elbow room around the edge.

I have been off the bike recovering my from collar bone for the last 7 weeks. My first commute since Apr was on Thu and I have noticed significantly more cyclists on my commute. Even when compared with last summer. It was great last night - a target ahead every 3-4 miles.

Yes, definitely more on my commute especially on the way home. Only seems to be on the warm, rain free days though. I'm still the only one to cycle to my work out of 350 employees.
