Petrol also carries more risks for your health, it contains toxic compounds like benzene, which should be of concern if you get it on your skin, inhale etc, it's highly carcinogenic and reduces your ability to produce white blood cells which fight off infections. Isopropanol is substantially better for your environment too as it leaves none of these toxic residues behind, it simply evaporates away.
