Where to go around Hemel?

I`m off to Hemel Hempstead this afternoon to attend a training course tomorrow, and as per usual I`m twiddling my thumbs this evening and contemplating taking the bike and going out for a few miles instead of being bored out of my brains in a hotel room.

I`m not familiar with the roads and can`t really plan a ride very easily by looking at google. Any suggestions please as to where is pleasant, or best avoided? Probably looking at a 30 miler (ish) just to pass a couple of hours:bicycle::rolleyes:

Many thanks guys

There is only one place to go on a bike. It's magic!

Head out towards Gaddesden Row, Studham, Dagnall, Ivinghoe, Aldbury, Little Gaddesden, back to Gaddesden Row then Hemel. Mainly country lanes and a couple of B roads

That doesn't look like the Hemel magic roundabout. I'm sure that had a stream running through it. You sure that's not Swindon?
It is some years since I went through Hemel though...

I am ashamed of myself - I used to live in St Albans, just down the road too.

If I lived in St Albans I think I'd try and forget Hemel too.
I spent three years commuting from Stevenage to Chesham.
The traffic through Hemel is imprinted on my mind. For ever.
For.
Ever.
