I had to stand on the train yesterday with the Brompton which is unusual. So many people going into the City. Wifey said this morning, "don't worry, there'll be plenty of space this morning - there's 5000 less people travelling than normal. "

And she was right.

As per Flying Fox and Otto, in SE London. on my way down the A21... passed a nice jam of cars for about a mile and a bit

Yeah I have days like this and of course when I work on Bank Holidays it's quiet.

Horrible this am. Had to catch tarain in. Left home at 7.30am to walk to Surbiton Station.

Arrive at 8am. 8.02 fast (15 mins) train to waterloo turns up. NO ROOM ON TRAIN - NOT EVEN STANDING ROOM!

Caught 8.12 am slow train (30 mins). Got standing room. By Clapham it was so crowded my book was literally pressed two inches from my nose. Bad breath being hawked into my face. And I mean BAD breath. Along with the dank, heavy, stale smell of some bloke's unwashed clothes.

Some bloke wittering on his mobile next to me:"YAH!!! HA HA HA!!!!YAH!!!!"

Walked mile and half to my offices as no way was I going to tackle the tube.

Arrived at 9.20am.

Cost? £13.

Aaahhh, the luxury of public transport. I think I'll stick to my bike!

I think everyone went out earlier today as there was a LOT of traffic from 6:45-7:15 as I came from SW11 to the City.
