It's interesting that the idea of a great destroying flood appears in so many religions (ok, for Judaism, Christianity and Islam, it's the same flood), but I think the Hindus at least also have one and possibly others as well. Folk memory of some past sea level change or something? Or I once heard that it might be the point at which the Caspian Sea (or was it the Black Sea?) flooded... Certainly the Med has been up and down a bit in the course of human existance, and it was only at the end of the last Ice Age that the North Sea became a sea...

I agree with Keith though, if the giraffes are worried, we're in deep shoot. As Noah must have been by the time they landed...;)
