I'm a fan of contis because of the p'ture free life I get out of them in general but a really good and experienced time trial-er in the club recommends Mitch Pro Grip, I don't know if they come in 28's though. My last 28mm tyres were spesh nimbus (plain front, armadillo rear) good wearing/ p'ture resistance too, but maybe too good wearing as the rear became skittish (for want of a better word) in the rain.

Marathon Plus if protection is more important than weight (they weigh about 600g per tyre!), Continental Four Seasons if you'd prefer something more lightweight (about half the weight of the Plusses).

Bear in mind also Marathon Plus tyres are an absolute bastard to get on.

Conti 4 seasons weigh only 250g.

I've got some 28mm Conti Sport Contacts which roll well and are pretty good puncture protection wise. Not really for surfaces other than roads though if you ride canal tracks or similar.

These are my tyres of choice too, they are brilliant. My last pair ( 32's ) went 4000 miles before they finally punctured and that was a big piece of glass that went through a big slice in the tyre which was already there, so I was really asking for that one. Have now fitted some 28's but haven't had a chance to give them a spin yet as i have Pneumonia and am weeks away from my next ride.
