oxford magnum decathlon £29.99 at moment down from £50 . sold secure Motorcycle Gold rated so as good as the granit thingies but for a lot less dosh
Gold rated means nothing in the real world, I have two sets of sold secure gold D locks, Masterlocks and Abus 54X's.
The 54x's are far far superior, they actually stand a chance of meeting the five minutes sold gold secure standard they are supposed to meet, unlike the Masterlocks that can be breached in under 30 seconds.

Kryptonite had a bad reputation a long time ago when it was discovered their D-locks could be opened with the top of a BIC pen.
But that was many years ago, from what I have read these days they are on a par with similar Abus products.

How heavy???? lol

My bike is 2nd hand with a value of about £100 or so which is why I'm not sure about spending too much money on a lock... perhaps the chain you mention is good enough?

I had the fahgettaboudit (before they brought out the mini version), I used to carry it around in my rucksack. I replaced this with a NY3000 and I have an evolution mini (I use both at work for my commute).

Personally, I believe the very top end abus locks are better. But I say that as someone that wouldn't buy the lowest end kryptonite ones (apart from the mini which is really for the race bike for those occasions it needs locking).

Thanks. It was mostly toward to how easy it's being cut/broken and the lock gets jammed over use. Don't want my bike to be stuck!!

At last, I have narrowed down to a bike lock that meets my budget... Abus Sinus Plus + cable.

Hopefully I have made the right decisions with this??

I'm bringing an old topic again.

I'm looking at these two D-locks and wondering if I should get one of them or something else. My bike is not expensive, but I prefer to spend money on a lock then for another bike:
http://www.fatbirds.co.uk/1441/prod...ogle&utm_content=None&utm_campaign=PriceComp1 (suggested in this topic) and
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kryptonite-York-Standard-Flexframe-Bracket/dp/B005YPK9SY/ref=sr_1_1?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1408370350&sr=1-1&keywords=kryptonite new york 3000

Would the mini be less heavier? Will it go trough a wheel and a frame? Could I use it with this cable: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kryptonite-Kryptoflex-Cable-Lock-213/dp/B000NOO3ZQ/ref=sr_1_5?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1408370350&sr=1-5&keywords=kryptonite new york 3000
(Just wondering if the cables loops will fit the locks?)
I'd like to get the cable so that I can go trough the second wheel and the saddle. Or should I just get a smaller chain lock?

P.S. Do you guys carry a d-lock in your bag or on the bike (hybrid)

Edit: What are these:
