Boardman IMO, as said, better spec, it even has Aksium wheels.

i can see what your all saying, the Roubaix does not seem as aggressive as the Boardman, when your 6ft and over 50, u want the one that feels the best not just on spec....thanks for your comments

Same dillema as yourself tried the Giant Defy 1 (fantastic ), Boardman ( brilliant) and the Roubaix( WoW ) leaning towards the Roubaix, nearly 50 and it was as you say a lot easier to ride and a frame for life..this weekend will ride again and make my mind up, my local LBS finches have been a brilliant help..

I'm a big fan of boardman bikes, but I would have taken the roubaix

I seem to detect a theme with your postings.... not saying your a Spec fanboy or anything you understand  , but I sometimes wonder if you'd recommend anything as long as it had "Specialized" written on the downtube........;)

For my money the latest Roubaix is seriously underspecced for the money. It may well be a lovely frame (personally I found it didn't fit me, but I wont hold that against it), but I'd want a damned sight better than Sora and some hefty wheels for £1200. Specialized are frankly taking the wee on this one.
