I discovered that the hard way many years ago. I was trying to take the head off but had one stud seized. I thought that I could spin the head round on the stud but when it had turned about halfway it started to dig in. I think I ended up sawing through the stud and BIL's dad drilled the stud and used the tang of a file tapped in to extract it.
There is a 'Special Tool' which bolts to the manifolds to remove the head, we had one at Status. Cant find a picture but this guy had obviously seen one and made his own version.

ah, so you are the perfect person to educate me. A friend's dad had an Ital. I gather that some Italian outfit had a hand in styling/upgrading the Ital from the standard Marina, but on a casual kid-look I was lost as to what the difference was. What was it?
Headlamps and the wipers had been set-up for left hand drive.

My father always hankered after one... I can see why :-)
My mate Vince had one of those - the Holbay version - beefed up clutch, 2 twin-choke webers and a lumpy cam.
I remember on one occasion him leaving The Windmill on Clapham Common, giving it large on the loud pedal and managing to spin the car through 180°.
Then driving off in the 'wrong' direction as if that was what he'd intended to do....
How we laughed.

anyone here ever have a Toyota Corona ?

My Dad had a mark 2 1973 - that was a beast of a car that was.

My old Art teacher at grammar school, Dick Emery (yes, really!), had one the same as the one above. Lovely sounding car with that small V8.

When I lived in Kilnhurst years ago on a nice steep hill one of the neighbours had a Rapier. One day I sat and watched him park in his drive and go indoors.
He'd forgotten the handbrake, and five seconds later the car rolled off the drive by itself. Thanks to the steering lock it ran in a graceful curve, only to perfectly end up in another drive a few doors down the hill.

10 years after he sold it the police turned up at his door. Buyers had never changed the V5 so the cops wanted him to go and remove his car from wherever it had been dumped.

Similar tail..
A customer I used to do a lot for , lived in Thorpe Road Peterborough top area with massive houses and grounds..

Well the lady in question got a new Subaru Forrester ..she hadn't figured out the new car hand brake 'electric I think'
Anyhow the car rolled off the very large drive, through several planted areas and parked itself at the bottom of the sloping garden in some bushes..
She reported it stolen!!
But hubby spotted tyre marks in his flower beds

Not a scratch on it and drove it around the lawns to its rightful parking spot..
