Really got the road bug having bought a Specialized sectuar earlier this year. I now really fancy a carbon framed bike to upgrade to. Thinking of a 2013 model as a lot of the shops seem to be reducing the prices,

IMHO the best bargains I've seen are the Cube Agree at about £899 and also my lbs has a Ridley Orion Summer Edition @ £900, but size M only (about a 54cm).

You wont get a cheap bike with Ultegra at that price, let alone a Carbon from PX so get in mate whilst they are still giving them away, only wish I had seen this offer a few weeks ago myself, but still I am more than happy with my Madone, which is probably as light but only has 105 groupset, so the PX is a steal considering it has Ultegra shifters and not some cheapos

The wheelset on the PX is a bit on the cheap side. I suppose they have to offset the cost of the Ultegra group set somewhere.
Indeed, they are crap! Mine(now on a winter bike) lasted 6 months until the brake track started to look like the profile of an alp.

And they were looked after

Not an Ultegra groupset though - only shifters and mechs.

You'll have to spend a fair amount to see much of a difference, the Secteur is a pretty good bike. Very comfortable as well, which is often why people move from Alu to Carbon. If you want to start racing, having a bike with more aggressive geometry would help. But the Secteur is fine for club rides and sportives. Why not just upgrade the wheels and some of the other bits and bobs?

That said, if you've £1500 - £2k burning a hole in your pocket, you could probably buy an extremely nice 2013 bike right now.

Thanks to everyone for all your knowledge and advice, I do like the sectuar and it is comfy as but just thought a carbon might be better ? As you say 2pies I might just look at a new wheels, saddle ,group set etc.
