Looking for a passenger EV camper. The new Kia PV5 is going to knock the VW ID Buzz for six

Tens of thousands cheaper

Thanks for the post on this, was not aware of it's existence.
I currently have a Ford Grand Tourneo connect, which I was put onto by a Bikeradar forum member, has served us well for 7 years, and I hope it continues to do so for at least as long again - just one broken starter motor during that time - ignoring consumables.

The reason I bought it specifically was to be able to carry bikes fully assembled, as it always bugged me in an estate car having to take seat posts and front wheels off, a third world problem I realise.
Now with a daughter, it makes it viable to go on holiday with 3 bikes and luggage with 2 of the rear seats folded down.
The potential issue I see with the PV5 is that it seems like the rear seats may not fold flat, and that loss of height could be critical.

There's that ramp up , and then that's a sizable step up to the seat backs - I think the loss in height could well be critical :-(

I've asked the youtube reviewer to check if they don't fold down more flat than this (As in my Ford there is one strap that folds the seat backs flat onto the seat bases as above, but then a second one that allows them to pivot/roll forwards and down to give an almost flat floor) and also if he can measure the distance from the seat backs to the roof lining.
38K seems to be the price for the decent one with the bigger battery, so in theory in around 5 years time, they could be selling for around ~15k.

Aside from the R5, which I purely like based on looks, this is only the 2nd EV I am genuinely excited by.

Yep, the above re-enforces it, and I'd say it is fixed.

The only option would be to unbolt, but I want the flexibility of 5 seats available all the time.

However, it is physically a taller vehicle than my GTC, all be it only by about 8cm, and it would all hinge on what that gap is at the front.
The load bay is potentially also slightly less, as the Kia is shorter than the GTC, so there may be less wiggle room there too.

Hopefully I'll get the measurement in the next few weeks, and will update if I do :-)
