Which EV would you get?

People are either brave, foolish or both, buying car brands that do not have comprehensive dealer networks supported by a good supply chain, here in the UK.

It's a reason I researched at length on my diesel van. I bought it cash, it was very expensive for a 3 year old car (has seats), but having had my last car for 20 years I was keeping it. Engine research, parts research (even with the 'posh' headlights mine has are a few hundred, not £1000. It's generally fixable.

Re the new ID. Polo

Very disappointed to to see that the funky exterior styling of even the very recent prototypes, has been drastically watered down.

Nowhere near as cool as the eg Renault 5.

Was looking at the VW for around 2 years time ie once the new model gremlins had been sorted. Apparently all the software architecture is very new.

Maybe we will keep our new, on order, ICE Polo for longer than 2 years or look at the Renault, etc.

Not surprised. VW's marketing focus seems to be "just like the old one you love". The most radical Golf update was the Mk2, back in the 80s?

Well looking at the launch info on the Skoda Epiq I'm a little disappointed, to get a decent spec it's going to be over £30k.

I imagine the ID Polo will be even worse value.

Disappointing pricing as the Polo has been pitched at a starting price of 18-22k for the past couple of years in the motoring press. No way was that ever going to be achieved.

Looks like the cheapie Epiq is 24.5k, not that it is available yet. I can only imagine the VW variant costing more, tbh.

As seen above it is not too dissimilar to the Troc (which is my current car) another reason it was on my shortlist.

Don't need anything larger and could probably get away with something slightly smaller.

Enough to put it (the T.Roc) in a class above.

The Epiq & Polo run on the newer MEB platform the T.Roc is on an entirely different platform shared with the Golf/A3.

The Epiq is more akin to the slightly smaller T.Cross.

I need a comfortable 130 miles mums is 260 so with a break a comfortable 130.

But longer range would mean less expensive charging.

Mokka has a 50kwh battery - probs 160 on the motorway - less in winter.

Enyaq 80 from 2023 has a 77kwh battery - 250 on the motorway - 200 in winter.
Enyaq should just about be in your budget.
