I never trust claimed range.

The Peugeot E3008 for example has real mileage capability in mild weather for combined range of 268 miles. Highway driving that reduces to 215 miles of range

Neither do I, but the E3008 you have linked is the 73kWh battery (claimed range 326), while there is one with a 97kWh battery (claimed 435).

And this review suggests the E3008 (short range version) is a lot closer than your link suggests - if you drive in eco mode, and don't hammer it.

They had miles per kWh varying between 4.1 and 4.5 over their testing period. Even the lowest of those with teh 97kWh battery would have given 397 miles.

Just been comparing the e3008 to the Frontera /c3 which both look really poor. The tester says he was doing 1 mile per % so 100 miles range!

I found it now in 97kwh EV-database

They have neutered the power to 238bhp, probably single motor.

It still struggles to get much more than 350 miles of range- ideal driving conditions.

Im only comparing it to my 100kwhr Model S which has 600hp dual motors and scrapes just over 300 miles in optimal conditions

Yes. The heat pump is used for heating and cooling the cabin. Without one they are using resistive heating elements which are very hard on the battery.

This, they're ceramic resistance heating elements, also used in closed cab cold store reach forklifts heater units

Looks like the one I have on order - Midnight Blue, black roof. Mine arrives end of this month hopefully.

And here it is - bang on the end of the month. If I’m honest I was expecting to be a bit disappointed in it, or rather I was expecting it to be a ‘downgrade’ from the MINI. However it is a well-made thing (you can see where costs are cut but it’s not in your face) and it drives better than I remember. It’s stuffed with all the bells and whistles too. I’m impressed.

Went for a look at the Kia EV2 yesterday, nice tidy little car.

Looked absolutely tiny as it was parked next to their EV9 in the showroom 🤣

Not sure about the boxy looks though and will wait for the 3 VW group ones to get to the showrooms before arranging test drives.

Almost convinced myself that this year (or early next) is time for me to make the switch
