Keen to see the new Skoda Epiq, seems like it could tick a lot of boxes for me.
Is it just me who had a little titter at the grandiosity of the name 🤭

I liked their naming convention - all their EV's start with an E - but then they've just launched their big EV and it's called the Peaq ?????
I"m thinking of changing my car for something a bit more sensible (and smaller). Skoda Elroq might fit the bill, so on my way home from Bristol I dropped in to a main Skoda dealership. It'sFriday lunchnaptime.
I'd arrived in a 21 year old Peugeot Partner (Belingo). Would I have got a different response if I'd arrived in my Ioniq 5 AWD starship?
The sales manager needs sacking.
I went to look at the Kia EV2 a few weeks ago and although it was a bit busier than your Skoda dealership, it was very low key.
One guy came over and just said if you have any questions let me know, no pressure tactics, I liked it.
I hate when you walk in anywhere you get mobbed by sales staff, would much rather have a look round without mither.
Had a test drive this morning. Liked it, and will be collecting it on Thursday.
The stupid names and their insistence we start pronouncing in the old Czech tongue would put me off having one.
Did you know, in 2 decades Hyundai have changed how they pronounce their name in the UK 4 times? You'd think they'd have better things to do than police our language.
Skoda the manufactuer are not making these adverts. The adverts are made, or at least commissioned, by the UK importer, Volkswagen Group UK Ltd.
VW UK are UK based company made up of British personnel (plus, of course, foreign and naturalised emloyees.) They are not a Czech company, they are not a manufacturer, and are just trying to be smug and clever, and that always rubs me up the wrong way.
The days when an advert were simply extolling a products virtues seem long gone, which is sad. If they'd said "buy. Skoda ENIAC because it's a great family car with a sporty turn of speed" I could stmleast respect it, but watching some woman pretend to practice pronouncing Skoda with the SH sound is simply patronising.
To use a random example as we have two inntne household...you don't catch Volvo making ads with the actors putting on a comedy Swedish chef accent, and for good reason. Its an accumulation of these tiny differences that add up to a cultural whole, and is why Volvos worldwide profits dwarf VW Group, despite the latter being by far, by a huge margin, the larger company.

It amazes me that it’s illegal to use a mobile phone whilst driving but they are happy to stick a whopping great touchscreen in car to do even the most basic things.. It was my first experience of a touchscreen and my liking for them hasn't improved

I hated the fact I had to use a touchscreen to change cabinet temperature in my old car. Thankfully my new EV has actual buttons for the basic stuff, though you can mess with it via the touchscreen too. It’s a feature that sold me on the car.
