Saw a car online, dealer showed an Aviloo test at 99% capacity remaining. Dash photo shows car at 50% charge with 64 miles range. Full range should be in excess of 200 miles. Am I missing something, shouldn't the range at 50% be far higher than 64 miles?

Could have been ragged in very cold conditions, easy to get a gom* to show low numbers. See also a petrol/diesel car mpg/range after a bout of brisk driving.

I did wonder if other conditions may affect it.

If you put the make and model, others could comment on the range query.

I use EVdatabase to get a more accurate real world range figure when checking out models of vehicles. The ones quoted using government statute are wildly inaccurate.

This conversion looks very interesting, & useful................. if you have the money for it!!

I’m currently in the market to replace my MINI EV; so far I’ve test driven the Renault 5, Ford Puma Gen-E and Volvo EX30. The R5 heads the list - it was a great drive, looks good, is almost as quick as my MINI and with a notable increase in range. The rear seats are not as generous in the leg room department as the MINI but they would be be used only occasionally. The other two were nice enough cars but the Puma was notably slower and the Volvo is just a bit more car than I am after (it’s properly quick though, even in single motor guise).

I might also look at the Peugeot e-208 and someone suggested I try the MINI Aceman (although after 3 MINIs in a row I think I might be over them).

Yesterday I placed an order for a Renault 5. I have left it a bit late as my MINI contract ends mid-May but the dealer had some pre-ordered cars in the spec I was after so it should arrive mid/late April.

Colour choice was restricted to what was available - I really like the matte grey but that one had recently been sold, so I went for ‘Midnight Blue’. The spec variant I am having (‘Roland Garros’) does not come in any of the lurid colours.

So hopefully next month will be the first time for 7 years I haven’t had a MINI. They have been good cars but the limited range and only 3 doors/4 seats are sometimes restrictive.

Great choice. I really like the look of the R5 and the dark blue is very smart. We went for the R4 which is just a tad bigger. Had it a few weeks and still getting used to it but enjoying it very much. Turned off some of the beeps, Jean Michel Jarre and working through the features. I love the one pedal mode around town.

Really tempted with the dark blue Roland Garros plus a R5 was my first car back in 1982.

only issues are just will be big enough? and I’m not quite sure the limited range will work for us, our current Cupra Born has spoilt us with a decent 300 mile range and Golf sized interior
