If anyone is on the market for a haulage vehicle- the Tesla semi is available. 3 to 4 times cheaper per mile to run than a conventional diesel truck. Servicing almost zero. The savings compared to standard trucks will be attractive. Plus zero emissions

If this is real, it's a worrying safety failure for self-driving technology. Link: WTAF?
(Article about a car in supervised self-driving mode opting to suddenly accelerate through a lowered level crossing barrier, and only just clearing an oncoming train. NB, From what I gather, the car doesn't have the current version of self-driving hardware or software)

Mrs Legs has been offered an Audi Q8 as a company car, so we are taking the leap, as a family, to ditching the infernal combustion engine altogether. The BIK is quite steep because she's a higher rate taxpayer, but it gets us out of all the responsibility of owning, managing and paying for our own cars (tax, insurance, servicing and repairs, fuelling, tyres and other running costs, depreciation).

There's an automated system for reimbursing us for when we use our home charger to fill it, and she's got a charge card for the few occasions when we might need to charge away from home, so, besides the BIK, it's pretty much free motoring.

If its like our Q7 it will eat tyres.

Ours was an amazing family tourer, we used it for a 2 month driving trip around Europe with young kids and a baby on board, fully loaded up with luggage.

Albeit an expensive diesel guzzler

Doesn’t really matter if Jo’s Fleet Ops pay for and arrange tyre replacement 🤭

Renault 5 or if you are more loaded the Alpine version of it.

Seems to be the current choice but there are a number of small ev's due this year. No immediately local Renault dealer so just hoping my 12 1/2 year old Fiesta behaves itself until other new.models turn up with a dealer nearby.
