Only a few weeks to go until the new 2015 Genesis range are available. Genesis I have decided on as the make of bike that I want to ride. These are the 3. One a single speed, other is Alloy with carbon fork and the last one is all ch-mo or steel. Links and specs below. Would really like to hear your opinions and recommendations Thanks in advance.

This isn't going to be a lot of help but i saw a croix de fer in the flesh the other day for the first time, it looked right proper.

Appreciate your comments in helping me decide although its not an easy choice which I'm sure you know. How different a ride is steel to aluminium. The CDA 20 also has a 1 10 chainset with a rear derailleur that has a clutch type system.

What type of riding do you want to do?

CdF for roads / touring / some light trails.
CdA for more off road type stuff.
Day One if you really think you might get stuck in the mud and don't want the hassle of a clogged up derailleur.

So the CDF would be out of the question if I wanted to take part in a cyclocross event then. But yes would mainly be using the bike for light trails through forests, canal paths, longer road rides etc. ( what makes the CDA more suitable to off road? ) If any of you know Derbyshire Derby to Matlock area, probably single speed wouldn't be suitable. Went for a ride on my mountain bike with Scwalbe City Jet 1.5 ,s using just a 44 /17 gearing. It was tough going I must add especially uphill. I managed but was tiring.

Purchasing with Halfords cycle to work scheme which I don't think Wiggle offer, lovely bike though and excellent price.
