My heart says, and my choice would be sram rival . I’ve had it on my best bike for over a decade. It wasn’t my first choice at the time but the price was right . It’s never let me down and exceeded my expectations in every way .
The double tap system is very easy to get used to , (but i have to say i don’t have any trouble swapping from manufacturer to manufacturer anyway as i have four bike , 2 with campag , 1 with Shimano and 1 with sram. )
The only one I really have to think about is my Rose fitted with campag Athena and that’s because the brakes are set up the continental way . 😂😀

But my head says 105 is the sensible choice for a lot of people .

It was seeing this thread that made me realise that I have never bought a groupset, or a bike equipped with a singular groupset (they've all had a mixture). I've always bought individual components fit for the job and available, taking into account price. I've avoided bottom-end components most of the time. I've never used brifters and have bar-end shifters on my drop bar bike. Because of this, most of my derailleur mechs have been Shimano (though back in the eighties, I was in love with Suntour mechs).

Given the choice of the three, all at about the same price, and I reckon I would go with the 105, mostly on reputation and proven reliability (I have no personal experience). I certainly would not be basing choice on weight, even if I was going for a lightweight build. What is the difference in weight between the three? I wouldn't have thought it would be especially significant in the grander scheme of things.
