Which is the most eco-friendly computer?

I'm considering replacing my old laptop with one of those eco-friendly computers made out of recycled parts and low-power laptop processors. They look very dinky, some of them.

When I looked at the "green" PCs, they were quite expensive & not that eco friendly.

Did you see the episode of Qi where the answer to "how can this family legally make the greatest change to it's carbon footprint" was get rid of the dog as the carbon output required to feed the dog was greater than to keep the 4WD going ?

Good comic strip - very philisophical. I was thinking about Alan Turing's thought experiments when I was reading it. Alan Turing thought you could write any algorithm on an infinite tape that had only four instructions: move left, move right, place a mark, rub out a mark. I'm not sure how this deals with parallel computing and multi-tasking though.

Aside from which multi tasking is just a different way of expressing a solution rather than the only solution.
On a single processor system it's a series of chunks from each task run in serial.
