By soaking I mean chucking the all the dirty stuff in the sink and half filling the bowl with water then leaving it to fester. Not the kind of sensible soaking to loosen burned on stuff.

On the tin foil. I wrap it around stuff and leave it in the fridge but my partner thinks this is tantamount to putting a live nuclear warhead in there for some reason.

What is this '"Washing Up' to which you allude? The dishwasher doesn't worry if it soaks or not. (No, I'm not taking about MrsPete )

Milk in first, then if there's a bit too much I can slurp it out before pouring the tea in.

I use aluminium foil, so I can't comment on the refrigeration qualities of tin foil.

When you say pour the tea in - you are talking about a teapot?

Milk in first then tea from pot is fine - but if using a t-bag then it's problematic I find.

Not sure quite what you mean by putting tin foil in the fridge? Wrapped around something or lining the bottom?

Either way it's still putting the milk in first and all right minded people know this.

Soaking is a precursor to washing up and makes the task easier.

I don't put any milk in my tea or my coffee
