I have always disliked the wind, but now old age is making me despise it, anything up to 10mph I can cope with, stronger than that going into it spoils the ride for me,
(obviously the tail wind is enjoyed) hills are there to be conquered and you do eventually get over them. I always liked Hawkwind.

For a headwind, just get down on the bars and let it flow around you.

Wind only gets really serious when it's impossible to hold a straight line and/or it starts throwing stuff at you (medium sized bits of wood from trees, in case you're wondering).

Hills? Well, I live in Devon, it's hilly.
I feel your pain, so do I!!

The headwinds I hate the most are the ones which fiendishly change direction at the halfway point of the ride.
Also wind and hills sometimes combine to make progress doubly difficult.

Loops of Richmond Park are the worst for that - sometimes I swear there is a headwind the whole way round!

I enjoy the winds, especially if I'm blown back home after I've struggled against it on the way out. I don't do hills, only the flat...

Cold, wind, snow and rain, that's a combination for Shackleton mode.......

As it's hilly here and mostly windy it's been a case of like or lump it.

I like Jessica Ennis Hill too....

I always try and cycle out against the wind in the hope that I get blown back home again. It does work - sometimes!
Hills are much more interesting than boring straight flat bits. I could never live in East Anglia.

Hawkwind, I used to play in the UK's leading Hawkwind tribute band, we would regularly get three or four people at gigs, I know how awful it is believe me, I have the evidence. If pressed I can upload a clip.
Aren't Hawkwind the UK's leading Hawkwind Tribute band?

I once tramped halfway up Pendle Hill to see Hawkwind. They didn't turn up, but if i recall correctly, a band called Bastard did, fronted by Ron Tree who later fronted Hawkwind for a bit. Bastard were rubbish... but so are Hawkwind these days.

Hills are so varied.

I don't mind a long hill but dislike a sharp 25%er. Not just because its so hurty but it also knocks me off a rhythm and brings me to a virtual standstill. A few of those on a ride just makes it all feel too stop-start for my liking.

But I prefer that to a constant headwind.
