I read The Kingston Whig-Standard (my utterly terrible local), The Globe and Mail (Canadian), Guardian, New York Times, Le Monde (France) and Asahi Shimbun (Japan) on a regular basis (one a week catch up in the case of the last three. I read The Daily Telegraph when I visit my parents, which is rather like visiting a parallel universe (that's the reading the Telegraph bit, rather than visiting my parents).

At the moment, I'm sticking to Al-Jazeera online to find out what's really going in in the Middle East.

Another Grauniad reader here.... but very rarely buy it any more. Only when on a long plane or train trip. Dip into online version occasionally.

I really liked The Independent when it started and until it lost its way in the mid 90s, shame as it was a good paper.

Yes - me too...although Robert Fisk wrote a good report on the Middle East yesterday. I'll read anything but be seduced by little - I'm too thick for all that subtle politicising stuff.

Indie, Guardian on a Saturday because I like the cooking bit in the magazine and Observer because I try and like the crossword.

And as for all the $h1t that comes tumbling out along with supplements...

The Saturday Guardian cryptic keeps me amused for a few days until I've cracked it or it has cracked me and gives me a reason to buy it.

Like Ape, I detest the paraphernalia and fliers that come with it though.

I do not read any, I look at the boobies if a Daily Sport is lying around at work, but never bother reading any of it. I never watch the news on tv either, it is far too depressing and over the top.

None.

Cant see the point in spending money to read the opinions of other people - most of whom have their own agenda to follow and don't necessarily tell the truth to make their spurious points.

I don't buy papers.
I do sometimes read the Metro when it is there and my folks get the Mail so I swipe the TV guide.

When I am bored I will read the cartoons in just about any paper that happens to be around and maybe have a go at the crosswords.

I haven't bought any papers in years.

I do like a flick trough them if I find papers lying around in a cafe, pub or whatever but wouldn't waste money on them.

Too many Guardian readers, that's why this country is in such a mess. Still the way the G's circulation is going you won't be reading this for much longer

Yes there's a lot of non newspaper readers on here too so I have belatedly added a 'none of them' option.
Haven't heard of 'The Metro' - is it a Manchester one?

The Metro.
It is a free 'urban-national' paper that is favoured by commuters as it is often found on buses and trains. I guess it is Londoncentric-national as many of the letters and texts are London based but the paper is available in other cities.
There is a strong Nemi following though how some readers can claim to be in love with a cartoon Goth I don't know. Her friend with the blue hair is much more interesting!
