Hi again medavidcook.

No shouting here pal.

I am very into Cube bikes.
Both are the same - save for one is specced with a triple chainset - a little better for those who struggle with hills and one with a compact chainset.

The cyclopedia spec seems to have an error in the 105 chainset spec - most likely a full Sora groupset.

What I can say is that brand for brand & apart from Canyon (direct sales only) no company offers better specced bikes for the money.

This is why (partly) a Cube will be my N+1 when funds allow.

Good bike - good brand - looks great - lightweight - good branded Shimano & Easton parts - can't ask for more.

Final point - take viksters advice pls, go through quidco - buy from CRC & save cash twice - it's good advice (she's telling everyone ).

For the sake of clarity, it's worth reiterating that if you buy a 'Peloton' it will come with a triple, regardless of what anyone here says. If you want a compact c/s, you will need to buy a 'Peloton Compact'...

I wasn't shouting, thanks for the feedback and advice, I am going to go cyclopedia to check it out and they buy online via CRC with quidco.

thanks all

Yes, that's how to support local businesses ;)
...why not actually ask cyclopaedia if they can do anything on the price.
Remember if you buy in store, you should get a free 6 week service and have someone to deal with if there's an issue. They should also help out with fit and so on. You get none of that online.

I'd willingly pay the extra £20 for the service and peace of mind, especially as it seems there is an occasional issue with cracking seat posts on Cubes

^^^ +1

OP are you experienced in matters of bikes, would you be able to do the 6 week check yourself in terms of dealing with cable stretch, gear indexing, getting the fit sorted etc? If so, then buying online is less of a risk

The other advantage of buying in a shop is you get to take it home there and then, no need to take time off work to wait in for a delivery which may or may not show, and no big box to dispose of

I assume the 56cm frame is the right one, being the only one available on both links?

Still think it's off to use an LBS for sizing and advice and then buy online, but hey

Not you medavidcook.
I was refering to another member.
"No shouting here" to quote myself reads wrongly - I should have put something like "no shouting from me" if you get my drift ?
